If you are taking one train or intercity bus to Busan, choose K-Tour Pass 1. If you are already buying a Korail Pass for several rail journeys, choose K-Tour Pass 2.
That’s the useful difference. Neither option is an unlimited Busan subway or bus pass.
Korea launched the foreign-visitor product on October 1, 2026. The Korean government announcement says both versions cost KRW 15,000 and combine a transport discount with one free Busan attraction and other benefits. The transport coupon is the part that changes.
The two options, without the marketing blur
| Choose | Transport benefit | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| K-Tour Pass 1 | 40% off one eligible train or intercity bus booking with Busan as the final destination, capped at KRW 24,000 | You need one Seoul-to-Busan-style ticket and are not buying a Korail Pass |
| K-Tour Pass 2 | KRW 24,000 off a Korail Pass | You plan to use a Korail Pass for multiple rail journeys |
The current VISITKOREA product page adds an important sales-channel detail: Klook offers Pass 1 for an eligible train or bus, while HopnHop lists the train discount only. Its eligible train list includes KTX, ITX, Saemaeul and Mugunghwa.
Pass 2 isn’t a multi-day K-Tour Pass. It supplies a fixed discount for a separate Korail Pass. Review the routes and terms on the official Korail Pass page before deciding whether that wider product fits your itinerary.
What both passes include
Whichever version you buy, the product page lists the same four extras:
- 50% off one AREX Airport Express one-way ticket, up to KRW 6,000
- one free admission from about 35 listed Busan attractions
- discounts at about 50 participating attractions, cafes and experience businesses
- one physical WOWPASS card
The free attraction is a choice, not a bundle of 35 admissions. Current examples on the official list include Lotte World Adventure Busan, Songdo Marine Cable Car, Skyline Luge Busan, Busan X the Sky, SEA LIFE Busan Aquarium and Arte Museum Busan. Check the live list and the venue’s operating hours before building your day around one.
The transport coupons and mobile K-Tour Pass ticket are valid through December 31, 2026, according to the official FAQ checked on October 22, 2026. The issued WOWPASS can remain usable longer, but that does not extend the attraction ticket or transport coupons.
The transit-card trap
The included WOWPASS is useful, but it arrives with a KRW 0 balance. You must add money before using it. Its prepaid payment balance and T-money transit function also require separate charging steps.
So the physical card doesn’t turn the K-Tour Pass into unlimited local transportation. It is a reloadable payment and transit card supplied with the package.
The same FAQ says you can collect it at dedicated kiosks at Busan Station, Seoul Station, Gimhae Airport, Gimpo Airport, or Incheon Airport after looking up the eight-digit voucher number and scanning your passport. A live mobile barcode is also required at participating merchants; a screenshot or printout may not be accepted.
Buy first, then apply the coupon
The current Klook purchase page is in English and can be viewed without signing in, though checkout and your voucher page require an account. For its sales channel, the sequence is:
- Buy the correct K-Tour Pass version.
- Open the issued voucher in Klook My Page.
- Copy the separate discount code for AREX and the Busan-bound ticket or Korail Pass.
- Open the corresponding booking page and apply the code at checkout.
- Open the K-Tour Pass mobile ticket for the attraction barcode and WOWPASS collection code.
For Pass 1, Klook states that Busan must be the final destination and that one transport coupon applies to one booking transaction. Don’t buy a ticket first and assume the discount can be added afterward.
Refunds also become narrower once a benefit is used. The official FAQ says a full cancellation is available only while none of the transport coupons or mobile-ticket benefits has been used. Looking up the WOWPASS issuance code, registering a transport coupon, or using a partner benefit can make the purchase non-refundable.
The simple decision remains: one Busan-bound booking means Pass 1; a separate Korail Pass means Pass 2. After that, check whether one listed attraction plus the coupons you will actually use exceeds the KRW 15,000 purchase price.
